Lectio divina is prayerful reading of Scripture. You read attentively, reflect on what you have read, respond to God in prayer and make room for quiet attention.
A little more context
It is not fortune-telling with a randomly chosen verse. Read the passage in its context, and let the Church’s understanding of Scripture guide interpretation. A striking phrase can become the beginning of a conversation with God without being treated as a private prediction.
A practical beginning
Begin with a short Gospel paragraph. Read it twice, notice one phrase, speak to God about it and sit quietly for a moment. Ask what faithful response belongs in your ordinary day.
